MediSeal destroys mould and mildew as it exhibits a strong anti microbial effect. It reduces the spread of harmful and toxic diseases by removing and killing bacteria and parasites present on the surface of materials and fabrics. MediSeal aids in the preventing the growth of Bacteria, Viruses, Funghi, Algae, Mould and Mildew on both natural and synthetic fibres. Microorganisms are killed by MediSeal before coming into contact with treated fabrics. MediSeal is designed to penetrate each fibre of your fabric. Once applied, it is then cured through a gentle heat process. This does not change the look or feel of the fabric and can be used on all fibres and is non toxic and odorless. This is an essential finish for drapery and upholstery to be used in health care, schools and high traffic areas. |

Technology
Our Scientists and lab technicians have developed MediSeal, an exclusive and proven technology which penetrates deep into fibres and bonds to your fabric providing a barrier that not only repels but more importantly kills microbes, inhibiting further growth before it can come into contact with your treated fabric.
MediSeals protective barrier is particularly effective against Staphylococcus Aureas (shown left), the main microorganism causing odorous fabric. Staphylococcus Aureas can cause a range of illnesses from minor skin infections such as pimples, impetigo, boils, cellulitis, folliculitis, carbuncles, scalded skin syndrome and abscesses to life threatening diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, toxic shock syndrome, bacteremia and sepsis. MediSeal has several antiseptic agents that work together providing resistance against antimicrobial activity. This in turn assists in reducing the risk of many internal and external infections associated with microbes within fabric fibres.

Halo Test
MediSeal is tested using the Australian Standards TM090 Antibacterial Activity Test (AATCC test method 90-2011) similar to a zone of inhibition test. Samples to be tested are laundered or dry-cleaned prior to testing. Agar containing the inoculate is poured into two petri dishes and allowed to solidify. The test piece of fabric is then placed in the centre of one petri dish while the second is kept as a control. After incubation for 18-24 hours the plates are assessed for microbial concentrations.
This test clearly shows the fabric treated with MediSeal (left dish), is protected by a "zone of inhibition" illustrated by a visible ring. The dish on the right shows the expansion of uninhibited microbes. It is this zone that kills and neutralises the microorganisms before they have a chance to reach the fabric. |
